Rockin Missy Mack

26 Aug

We have these little rewards the kids get at school for being good at school. We call them Rockin Rewards Missy Mack got her first Rockin Reward on Tuesday (that’s day two, people). The rewards go in a bucket for each grade level. Each morning at assembly, the principal draws a name from the grade level buckets and the kids come, shake her hand and get a certificate to pick a friend to sit with or lunch or go to the front of the lunch line.

Missy Mack’s name was drawn from the kindergarten bucket. We were so happy and so proud.

Here she is having her special lunch.

Then when I picked her up, I found out she had to be spoken to for talking while the teacher was talking and at gym she did a series of actions that had the coach rolling with laughter.

She fell while running laps and instead of moving out of the way, she laid there and continued to be road kill getting trampled on all the while fake crying so loud the coach can hear her over the stereo. When coach goes to help, Missy Mack jumps up and acts like nothing happened. No tears, nothin. Then, once coach gets 30 kindergarteners all spread out across the gym in their spots and begins teaching, she looks up and Missy Mack is just spinning around in circles not listening to a word the woman is saying. The only child. Spinning.

So much for being Rockin.

Well at least she got to have lunch with a friend! And… there’s nothing like the kid that can keep you entertained!

Sounds a lot like one of my kids. Which means, she’s awesome.
