Today, I received the most kind gift I have ever received in my teaching career. My 5th grade students made a scrapbook as a goodbye/thank you gift. It is beautiful. Each student has 2 pages. There is a picture of them, a note from their parents, a picture or note drawn or written by them and a questionnaire they completed answering funny questions about me and my class.
It is a true treasure. I can’t stop looking at it. I’ll add pictures when I take them.
I also got a relaxing pedicure and babysitting from my student council students.
I needed this after last week. I am reminded of what a great place I work.
This weekend, Missy Mack bridged from a Daisy Scout to a Brownie. We had a great celebration where the girls went wild, got a glimpse into Browniehood and were blessed by Daisy Mother’s gifts.

Of course, in the Mack house some member of either the stuffed animal brigade or the doll posse has to come along and participate. I give you Holly, the Build A Bear Girl Scout, who now has a brownie outfit.
It was a fun day!
Every Sunday around 3 PM, I get what Mr. Mack calls the Sunday Night Blues. Not this Sunday. You know why? Because tomorrow is a holiday. Yeah for a Monday holiday. Yeah for staying up late, having drinks and turning off the alarm because there is no need to wake before dawn.
More Sundays like these, please.
Today we are filled with parties and what a great thing to have friends that invite. It has been raining for two days. I absolutely love the rain. I could live in Seattle and be perfectly happy.
We had a park Bday at lunch. It was raining but not hard, so it went on as planned. The kids loved it. It was an excuse to get dirty and wet!
Missy Mack said the slide was just like a water slide. It even threw her to the ground.
There was a piñata and boys who play baseball are pretty darn good at the piñata. It is amazing how good, fierce and aggressive these kids have become in one year. Even their younger siblings. This ain’t no kindergarten piñata. We put the preschoolers up front, then let the birthday boy take a whack and Missy Mack quickly arranged the rest of the party from youngest to oldest. I was so worried her never before swung a bat self would miss but she did great. She came at it so hard that she slipped.
Another whack and the first piece comes out.
The GIRL behind her cracked it open. It was fun.
Enjoying the rain as I get ready for sleep.
This is my favorite day of the year. In first grade, they have I love to read day. Each student dresses up as a favorite book character and writes a fashion show description of what this character wears and they walk the runway. I get to MC each year. I love it.
Missy Mack dressed as Molly, the American Girl, from the book Changes for Molly. She was Miss Victory. She did a great job!
Even Mr. L came dressed in costume.
They all looked so cute!
Surely, something else happened today but I forgot it all when this happened.
This chunk of sweetness fell asleep in my hand.
