206: Scouting

13 Sep

After ballet, we went to our favorite joint for lunch, Huts, and began our birthday spot scouting expedition. First stop, Mt. Bonnell. It is a historic spot in Austin and one I have never been to, but I ruled it out right off the bay because there are about 50 steep steps to climb. I am certain no grandparents, presents or supplies would survive to hike. Plus I was envisioning little girls tumbling off the cliffs. Yikes! Beautiful, just not birthday party ideal.

Next, Mayfield Park. Missy Mack and I had been here bedroom kindergarten with her daisy troop to spread seeds on the trail. This homestead has peacocks and is jus perfect for our plan. We all fell in love. Mr. Mack was exploring and almost giddy. Now, we just hope it’s available. It’s like a secret tucked away just for us and the fairies.

We stopped for slurpees on the way home because its hot as hell.

Pretty successful day.
